ah yes! mike mangini! can't remember if i got anything autographed by him at his drum clinic here in late 2004... and it was amazing to see his one handed rolls etc. this fire garden suite video is the next best thing to help me recall what i watched!

i've just reconfirmed that i have another good person whom i can call mentor. we get along great on the phone, and it doesn't hurt to know he's a cyclist too.

i remember coming across something like this during my running days:

"the half marathon mark in a marathon, is a struggle between wanting to continue and wanting to give up."

am i in such a position now?

made a search on dale carnegie recently, just printed out some of his quotes last night.

it's a nice thing to make my day - a friend told me that her friend had a dream that i was inside - all i did was to loan a dictionary, and i get involved in a dream! well!

i'm starting to embrace the faceless and gutless person who's regularly mangling my wikipedia userpage and posting rubbish comments on my blog. Only thing consistent is that the joker is using pacific internet. ah well. i shouldn't let him know that i'm actually using him to increase my public presence to help make myself better and more known, right?...

i can't believe it. i've mellowed over the last few months, ever since i left teaching.

teaching is something that i still do have a love for, but not as much as what i'm doing now. i'm thankful for the change in direction while i'm still (somewhat) young.

new method on how do you get to break your big toe, courtesy of a nice girl friend (who happens to be my cousin's colleague)...

dance.

WHAT?

yes, dance. my friend broke her toe when a guy somehow, accidentally gave her a kick (don't ask me how or why, she doesn't know either) during a modern dance session and her big toe just broke. who says dancing isn't dangerous? *rotflol*

ok ok, so i was mean in the beginning and peals of laughter just came naturally... all because it sounded incredulously funny... how could one break a toe from dancing? but my friend was lucky because her sister's boyfriend was somehow able to claim it out under home insurance. now, that was really a freak accident... but she did say though the injury isn't much, it would be about six months before she can dance safely. so now i can understand what problems that small girl who lost her big toe due to wearing crocs would face. problems in pushing the foot off the ground even for walking, let alone dancing.

being in this line, after moving out from teaching, it's a bumpy road, to say the least. ups and downs can be felt every moment of the way, as serena mentions in her blog. i'm a guy, but hey, i've got feelings too. but i need to remind myself - unfortunate events do happen without any signs at all, but are you actually prepared for them? for that cause alone, i cannot allow my own emotions to muck up my vision.

like the irish runner (his name escapes me now) once said, he'd at most allow something negative to be with him for 10 minutes (or 15?), then he'd put it aside and move on. because it doesn't help to mope on something and sulk.

it's odd at times when i come across friends who say something along the lines of, "i don't have money to support you", or "i have too many policies, i can't do anything for you."

uh, the truth is, i don't ask for "support" as in, get a policy when i'm in business. i'm in the business of giving financial support when things are ok, so that when things take a change for the worse, a person is already prepared for it and doesn't get too much of a financial impact.

it's kind of odd too, that some insist, "i really have no interest in this financial health check thing", and some lady friends don't even go for pap smear tests. gasp!
